DESCRIPTION
The Skills 4 Success Initiative is developing a strategic framework that will set out new direction for adult and postsecondary education and skills training in the Northwest Territories, followed by an action plan, and monitoring, evaluation and accountability plan.
The Skills 4 Success Initiative is an evidence-driven process with an emphasis on timely and relevant labour market information, best practice research, results reporting, and informed stakeholder input and feedback.
The four key objectives of the Skills 4 Success Initiative are to:
1. Better understand current and future labour market needs and demands;
2. Ensure that supports and incentives are relevant, effective and aligned with evolving labour market needs and demands;
3. Ensure that Northern residents have access to adult and postsecondary education and skills training programs and pathways that lead to workforce attainment; and,
4. Strengthen economic diversifi cation and growth by ensuring that employer and business skills needs are met.
The Skills 4 Success Initiative will effectively complete the transformation of the education system continuum (early childhood, K-12, adult and postsecondary education, and skills training) in the Northwest Territories.
